DEC 28

Day 6 of 7 on chemo. I slept really well last night, even with all the interuptions. I had a shower and then the usual routine of chemo. Debby, Dana and Sue got here around 11 a.m. My fever spiked for the first time today, it got to 101.4. It started with the chills around 3 p.m. but by 7 I was feeling a little better. My nurse called the doctor and they decided to start me on an antibiotic and of course draw more blood. It's so frustrating with all the IV fluids and the amount of water they want me to drink as soon as I get comfortable I have to go to the bathroom. Carol came by on her way to the airport to meet my sister Mary who gets here today from Boston. Brian called today (just like every day) and we talked for a while. My son-in-law Dave set up web cams so I got to see and talk to Hailey on the computer. He also set up the blog. I got an email from a friend who shared with me Joshua 1:9 where God told Joshua to be "strong and courageous". It was a great encouragement for me knowing that even Joshua needed to be encouraged. Sometimes in our lives we must do things that we really don't want to do, but it's comforting knowing that God uses everything for the good of those who love Him. Most of the times that I've felt the closest to God was right after I did something for Him that I didn't want to do. There is a saying that Satan puts his biggest road blocks in front of God's greatest triumphs and it's been true in my life. The neat thing about it is this; I didn't even have to work at getting thru the road block, God did all that, I just had to keep putting one foot in front of the other for God. Pretty cool, huh?
GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME!
ALL THE TIME, GOD IS GOOD!

Hey Papa! I'm writing you from the wireless connection in my crib. It's amazing what imenities that childrens sleeping apparatus are coming standard with these days...

Anyhow, I just wanted to write and tell you that I love you. I can't wait for big Papa hugs when you get home!

Love,

Aiden Lash

P.S. Oh, please don't tell my Daddy that I can already talk and use the internet. If you do, he'll never shut up about airplane stuff and the Broncos. He already drives mom and Hailey crazy with that!

Hi Grandpa!
Mommy is helping me write this, but I had to tell you... I went POTTY on MY POTTY!!! Everyone was so proud of me.. they were jumping up and down. You would have thought I won a million dollars. All that fuss cuz I went to the bathroom.
I missed playing with you when I was out there, but I got along great with my cousin Hailey, we got into all kinds of things together. It was a lot of fun. We played with Grandma's Christmas decorations, until we got into trouble, Sissy made us put them back. She isn't any fun.

We played with your Train and Hailey and I loved it when it came by us. We laughed and laughed.

When I went to Aunt Carols I met more cousins and family, I played with Johnny, Becca, Hailey and Braiden. It was fun playing in the backyard with them. I also LOVED Aunt Carols waterfountain she had in the front yard. I wouldn't stay out of it. I think Mommy and Daddy were getting upset with me, just because I wanted to get wet - You would think that it was winter or something.

I can't wait until you get better and are able to play with me again.

Dear Grandpa,

I just wanted to say hi and see how you were feeling today. I missed being able to throw the football with you when we came to visit. I can't wait until you are feeling better. I still say the Saints are going to beat the Broncos! If the Broncos can even get to the playoffs. he he he (Sorry Uncle Dave)

HI Grandpa!
How are you feeling today? I hope not to bad!
Thank you for all the wonderful Christmas Gifts, I was sad that you were not there to watch me open them. I also, was not ready when it was time to go to Aunt Carols because you weren't downstairs yelling - Let's GO!
(so I didn't look good)
Mom is making us do our chores and get ready for school next week, but she let me get on for a minute to write you. I hope your feeling good and I will write more later.

Hi Ernie,

I hope today is a good day for you, I know with Chemo and all the stuff they are doing to you, that you never know if it is a good day or a bad day.

The kids and I are cleaning house today and getting ready for the New Year. We took down our Christmas tree yesterday, between the three cats and Jacob it had hit the gound more times than I can count.

I can't believe it is almost 2007! I can't believe Jacob is almost two! It seems like just yesterday he was born. It is amazing how quickly they grow. I am in shock that Ashli is in High School this year, and Chris is in 5th grade talking about Junior High. (Boy, I feel OLD)

I will write more later. Just wanted you to know that we were thinking about you.

Hi again! I am new to all of this and I posted a comment under the 27th. Sorry to hear that you were running a fever but it sounds as though they nipped it in the bud pretty quickly. I hope you rest fitfully tonight. I sent your blog site to some people - didn't know if they had it or not!

Love,
Joan

Ernie , I was so grateful you had a good day. I stayed at your house today because of these crazy allergies, don't want to worry if this is turning in to a cold. I'm going home tomorrow for few weeks but you will be in my daily prayers, and of course we will keep up with this web site.

with love Sue
